Position Overview:

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm

The position will start in May 2022

Digi-Key Electronics is seeking a goal-oriented and highly motivated individual to join our Export Trade Compliance team! The primary focus of this position is to provide an exciting real-world experience within the Global Trade Compliance community at a thriving international company .

The Export Trade Compliance team is responsible for the execution of Digi-Key's export compliance program . This team reviews and evaluates sales transactions to ensure total compliance with all U.S. Trade Regulations. Specialists identify and research areas of concern such as restricted end uses and end use rs, licensable determinations, and other facets of our export compliance program.

This role will offer a n o verview of Trade Compliance by providing opportunities to learn from and network directly with subject matter experts in Imports, Trade Classifications, Regulatory Global Trade Compliance, and Hazardous Materials but this role's main focus will be Export Trade Compliance. You will learn all applicable Export Regulations and how Digi-Key applies them to each of 25,000+ daily shipments.

This is considered an essential onsite role, which requires regular onsite attendance.

Responsibilities:

• Be s elf-motivated to independently work on one or more projects impacting Export Trade Compliance
  
• Actively participate and engage with others to gain an understanding of the subject material
  
• Attend meetings and network with teammates and members of Export Trade Compliance Management
  
• Assist Digi-Key's Trade Compliance team by performing processes that ensure complianc e with export regulations and international trade laws
  
• Mentor with a passionate & driven Digi-Key emp loyee, whose desire for you is to succeed in developing your skills and interests
  
• Observe first-hand how Export Trade Compliance works with all areas of the Digi-Key business
  
• Taking on additional responsibilities from Lead(s) or Export Trade Compliance management
  
• Acts as an internal consultant by analyzing and recommending solutions to Export Compliance issues relating to the assigned program or section area
  
• Acts as a Subject Matter Expert for understanding and communicating regulations issued by the Office of Foreign Assets Control, Bureau of Industry and Security, the Department of State, and other relevant agencies as related to Export Compliance and associated system configurations to maintain compliance with above government regulations
  
• Works on special research projects relating to compliance issues

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Minimum/Essential Qualifications :

• High School Diploma or equivilant
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  
• Excellent logic and reasoning skills
  
• Ability to spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse and screen both in a workplace or work from home setting
  
• Ability to spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body
