Accountant

Description Build your career in accounting with Robert Half, now offering a permanent position for an experienced Staff Accountant that has a knack for problem-solving and enjoys new challenges. As Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting throughout the monthly close. You will put your skills towards the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. This role is very integrated as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Your responsibilities

- Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner

- Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

- Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

- Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision

- Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

- Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

- Partake in various department-wide initiatives

- Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

- Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process

- Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

- Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations

- Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

- Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting Requirements - Experience with account reconciliation

- Strong familiarity with investments

- Comprehensive knowledge of cash management

- Foundational knowledge in investments

- Payroll experience

- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

- Knowledgeable of ERP systems

- Great attention to detail

- Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

- Competent with spreadsheets and databases

- Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills

- Strong analytical capabilities and discernment

- Recent and relevant accounting experience

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
