Overview

The NPI Manager is responsible for the roll-out of new products from Project Engineering release through start of production to ensure we are developing a tooling and manufacturing process that is consistently capable of producing quality parts. This role will lead our prototype shop while cultivating relationships with our internal partners; acting as the liaison and leading all parties to the aforementioned goal.

Responsibilities

This list of responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.

  • Evaluate new product assemblies prior to and during APQP meetings, documenting our optimal processing strategy and aligning on that process with our Estimating and Tooling teams
  • Partner with Engineering to set a DFM release strategy that provides the highest probability of producing a repeatable part
  • Align with Quality during tool and part process validation on results and potential changes; if required, drive results back to the Project Engineer for drawing/part changes
  • Organize weld and bend sequence documentation through development process to help tell the story of 'how did we get here'
  • Ensure final process beats or meets our Estimate. If not, share results with Sales and Estimating; work with Tooling and Engineering to close the delta's
  • Watch first run of new product in production facility to ensure all feedback is captured, share all pertinent feedback with the respective parties and communicate feedback updates to production leads
  • Develop and document processes to support standardized work in the NPI transition to production
  • Gather business partners and drive corrective actions when a NPI project encounters quality or time-line issues
  • Effectively communicate project milestones and next steps with our OEM customers during the NPI process

  • Able to read manufacturing blueprints with GD&T applications
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Fluent in all Microsoft Office products
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • History of proactive performance
  • Self-starting, highly motivated
