Training will be conducted virtually from your home. This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Business to Business Collection Management
  • Resolving barriers to payments
  • Analyze / reconcile accounts Receivable Data
  • Work is frequently completed without established procedures
  • Contact internal and external customers to ensure payment made timely on accounts in collection portfolio
  • Develop positive relationships while maintaining customer standards with a focus on problem solving
  • Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies
  • Timely respond to customer inquiries
  • Complete monthly delinquency meetings with Finance and business leaders
  • Perform effectively in a high volume and fast paced production environment with a high degree of accuracy and productivity
  • Perform required tasks independently as well as contribute as needed in a team environment
  • Provides explanations and interpretations within collections portfolio
  • Submit refunds for customers with credit balances
  • Investigate and assist with resolving disputes on customer accounts
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to resolve customer service facing issues
  • Analyzes and investigates
  • Provide training assistance for new Collection hires
  • Participate in software testing
  • Be a department leader\Works independently
  • All other tasks assigned by manager

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 3+ years of Business to Business Collection experience or 1+ years with an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree (any area of study)
  • Experience in a metric driven environment
  • Microsoft Excel user at an intermediate level (Pivot Tables, Sorting Data, and Reconciling experience)
  • Accounts Receivable Experience, primarily communication with customers about unpaid invoices.
  • Collections Experience that includes contacting customers for payment
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance.

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within Minneapolis and/or St. Paul, MN area.
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • GetPaid or PeopleSoft Collection Software experience
  • Collection Software tool experience
  • Accounting Software experience
  • Experience in large scale ERP environment
  • Prior experience working in a global organization

  • Solid negotiation, problem solving and resolution skills
  • Excellent communication skills with a diverse population
  • Quick learning agility, resourceful, self - motivated, and works independently
