Senior Test Engineer

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Test Engineer to join our eCommerce Website Search team to assist with identifying, communicating, and mitigating risk of application development throughout the SDLC while contributing toward the development of a world class testing practice .

T his is not exclusively an essential onsite role, though may require some onsite attendance.

Responsibilities

Must be able to...
  • Participate in test planning, automation, design, execution, and results validation throughout the development process
  • Provide requirements analysis and risk mitigation strategy for development activities to assess, communicate, and mitigate risk surrounding project or product development efforts
  • Collaborate extensively with development software engineers to coordinate test code coverage, testable implementation, and a holistic testing approach to insure a stable product at release
  • Execute regression and performance testing while contributing to the development of an ever-growing regression suite of automated tests
  • Provide leadership in the Testing Community of Practice to drive process improvement within the Center of Excellence
  • Organize and present training, examples, guidance, and feedback around testing processes

  • Pair with other roles such as BA or Software Engineer on a development team to increase cross-functional knowledge and organize holistic testing strategies
  • Collaborate with development teams and architecture to design proof of concept scenarios to evaluate and demonstrate new testing technology or techniques


Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Minimum/Essential Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of relevant experience with software testing and test automation of websites and RESTful APIs
  • Working knowledge and experience with Visual Studio, Postman, C#, JavaScript, Selenium, Nodejs, and Typescript.
  • Clear writing and communication skills as well as strong planning and leadership skills
  • Demonstrate proven behavioral skills, including effectively leading people, team player, sound thinking and judgment, achieving results, relating to people, managing work effectively, and leading by example
  • Demonstrate proven ability to think logically and creatively for novel and scalable solutions in testing and self-confidence to take bold action when needed
  • Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse and screen
  • Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body
  • Ability to operate computer workstation hardware and software


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge and experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases, Kafka, Java, Spring, Junit, Mockito, Azure, Elasticsearch
  • Previous experience on an Agile team or in an Agile environment
  • Undergraduate degree in IT related field such as Computer Science or Information Systems
  • High level understanding of project management and industry testing practices and patterns
  • Previous experience with business domain areas, or software development
