Our client, a Design-Build General Contractor located in Manitowoc, WI is recruiting for a head of business development. This innovative GC represents great clients, offers amazing office perks, and is rapidly acquiring market share. The position will assist the senior leadership team with a company-wide sales and marketing plan, and will execute on it. Position offers a healthy base salary and yearly discretionary bonus.


  • Seeks out leads for new customers.
  • Follows up with sales leads from other company personnel.
  • Responds to leads from past or existing customers.
  • Summarize project requirements into a drawing or sketch and scope of work for handoff to

estimating staff.

  • Review estimates and proposals developed by estimating staff.
  • Prepare information for sales presentations to customers. This includes but is not limited to

construction proposals, materials samples and literature, drawings, sketches, renderings, and other technical information as necessary.

  • Present proposals to customers and follow up to close sale in support.
  • Develop and maintain contacts (past customers, potential customers, and potential contacts

that may refer business.)

  • Assist President with project Requests for Proposals (RFP responses).


  • Minimum 2-year degree required, preferably with a focus in architecture, drafting, engineering, or construction related programming. Preferred: 4- year degree in construction management, engineering, business, or marketing combined with Design/Build construction sales experience combined with background experience in estimating, drafting, interior design, conceptual design, or knowledge of pre-engineered steel building construction.
  • Demonstrated community involvement, either private or professionally.
  • Sales experience is required.
