Job Purpose and Impact

The Government Sales Manager will develop our strategy, sales teams and processes to achieve revenue targets for US sales teams. We seek an experienced leader who will provide us with a strategic vision and tactical direction while overseeing and directing the responsibilities of employees. In this role, you will manage all government sales efforts to promote and sell salt, equipment, and winter maintenance products and services.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support business growth by disseminating information that promotes a favorable view of the organization and our products and services.
  • Assists the Managing Director, Bid Team and Road Safety Product Line Managers in planning, developing and delivering the sales strategy for products, services and associated brand(s).
  • Establish and implement short-to-mid-term plans that have an impact on business results aligned with parent or independent organization objectives.
  • Identifies geographical areas of growth, i.e. underserved markets for key products while nurturing existing customer relationships.
  • Liaisons with Technical Services and Applications Team ensuring alignment of market strategies for innovative and advanced products.
  • Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of six years of business-to-business development work experience
  • Undergraduate degree
  • 3+ years of experience with equipment sales or manufacturing
  • Able to travel up to 40% domestically
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in team management and working on growing accounts/customers
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years of sales experience
  • Contract Government Sales experience
  • Knowledge in sales plan creation and execution, preferably in the Salt or a related industry
  • Market analysis background with the ability to multitask across functions
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills, as required in government sector
  • Proven attention to detail and ability to read and interpret government documents
  • MBA
