YOUR ROLE

  • Responsible for identification, determination of applicability and timely communication of potential impact in SHEQ area
  • Monitors, communicates and executes implementation of regulation changes
  • Provides appropriate training to internal customers as prevention measures in SHEQ area
  • Identifies and implements opportunities of process optimization
  • Manage and communicate required safety training sessions. Responsible for scheduling, developing, updating and coordinating of needed materials, as well as securing appropriate training location and vendor. Develop and deliver presentations and/or training as necessary. Conducts safety orientation onboarding.
  • Support in the development of the SHE department and SHE training programs. Actively involved in updating the SHE training programs in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Assist SHE Department to ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFPA, EPA, NYSDEC and other applicable regulatory agencies as requested or directed including ISO 14001 documentation and permits.
  • Contributes to the overall implementation and deployment of SHE management systems.
  • Assists as needed in issuance of required personal protective equipment vouchers, (prescription eyewear, safety shoes, cold weather gear) and ordering PPE.
  • May serve as the facilitator of various SHE Committees and project teams and ensures committee members are authentically engaged in overall SHE management of the facility. Records and distributes meeting minutes.
  • Assist with the daily maintenance of online system for Safety Data Sheets, (SDSs).Assist in answering questions for personnel regarding information on SDSs, and/or researching with manufacturer of product if needed.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.


YOUR SKILLS

  • High School diploma required; Associates degree a plus. 3+ years of experience working in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work while managing multiple priorities.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills both orally and in writing with employees and management.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no direction; self-starter with capability to stay on-task.
  • Develop and deliver presentations as necessary.
  • Work with internal customers as well as external vendors, contractors and company representatives.
  • Able to develop and deliver training for topics such as: Safety, Manufacturing Processes, and regulatory compliance and more (as needed).
  • Training in Managing Hazardous Waste a plus. OSHA 10- and 30-Hour Certification a plus.
