Job Summary
The Service and Account Representative is responsible for providing service for all product lines including health, dental, vision, life and disability to Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota’s (BCBSND) accounts. This includes setting up and conducting enrollment meetings, assisting with claims and billing issues and informing groups about policy and underwriting changes.

Experience Requirements
Required: Minimum of 2 Years

Experience Details: Minimum of 2 years of sales, marketing, account management or related experience is required.
Certification, Licensures & Registration Requirements
Title: Must have or obtain Insurance Producer License within 3 months of hire and maintain continuing education requirements annually.
State or Agency: ND
Title: Must maintain an active and valid/unencumbered driver’s license which allows for standard driving privileges in North Dakota and Minnesota
State or Agency: Department of Motor Vehicles
Equivalent combination of education, experience or training determined to be acceptable by Human Resources may be substituted, unless regulated by contract or program standards

This includes setting up and conducting enrollment meetings, assisting with claims and billing issues and informing groups about policy and underwriting changes.
Essential Functions
- Provides customer service to existing accounts to help retain business.
- Assists marketing staff in preparing for renewals such as setting up and conducting open enrollment meetings, providing information to clients about changes to contracts, underwriting policies and billing procedures, helping to resolve claims issues and delivering member or group materials as needed.
- Identifies additional sales opportunities to sell ancillary products during the renewal process.
- Contacts groups which have delinquent payments and informs leaders about critically delinquent accounts. Assists with billing discrepancies and helps with mail outs when needed.
- Maintains knowledge of insurance products and Company policies and regulations.
- Continues to expand awareness and knowledge of rules and regulations that affect the business.
- Stays abreast of underwriting and billing regulations and policies, benefits design and rating processes.
- Maintains knowledge of federal and state regulations that affect the insurance business and participates in training seminars and continuing education programs.
- Represents the Company in a professional manner and volunteers in the community.
