Function

Responsibilities

Primary purpose is to perform and provide work direction to Inside/Outside Crews ensuring Standard Operating Procedures are followed and Company standards are met. Will assist Pullet Supervisor/Manager in the management of personnel, work schedules and/or projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance in relation to production scheduling and or time volunteered for.
  • Responsible for mortality and weights in all barns. Ensures weekly weights are done on time, (And turned into the production lead).
  • Ensure House people are following light schedules and the SOP book.
  • Ensures barns are clean and sets up chick house.
  • Follow all LOTO safety procedures and ensure all safety shields are in place.
  • Monitors temperatures and air quality multiple times throughout the day.
  • Communicates unusual mortality.
  • Will perform blood testing and salmonella swabbing. Monitors medication as needed.
  • Will optimize feed for pullet weights.
  • Oversees outside crew personnel to make sure company standards are met.
  • Mixes vaccine for outside crew and maintains vaccinator charts while also monitoring vaccination results.
  • Will perform all spray vaccinations according to the vaccine program/schedule throughout the growth period of each flock.
  • Maintain accurate vaccine inventory and report numbers to Production Lead weekly.
  • Will keep record of vaccination supplies and outside crew supplies and submit orders to Manager when items are getting low in inventory.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety
  • Be part of the on-call rotation which includes some weekdays/weekends/holidays. Employee must be able to respond to alarms with in 30mins.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED:
  • None Required

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to Multiply and divide 6 did get numbers.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to operate specific equipment or tools.
