Lead Building Maintenance Technician

Milwaukee, WI

Day Shift

How will you make an impact?

The Lead Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for planning and completion of the schedule and workload for the maintenance of the facility, including but not limited to, air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, mechanical, sanitary, plumbing, project work, construction. The Lead Building Maintenance Technician will act as back-up for Lead, Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician, as needed.

What will you do?

* Follow established methods and standard operating procedures
* Coordinate and Interact with outside contractors and vendors
* Handle emergency situations in a safe, professional manner either in house or on call
* Remain technically competent and keep current with new developments in related fields
* Provide training to new hires on the facilities team as needed
* Maintain current status of required licenses and permits
* Frequently leads department and cross functional improvements related to process and 5S; shares best practices
* Understand and comply with RCRA Standards
* The position is also responsible for any other duties apparent or assigned

How will you get here?

* High school diploma or GED required. Vocational technical degree, preferred
* Minimum 5 years' experience in the area of building maintenance, including specialized industrial schooling
* Ability to verbally communicate, read and write in English
* Ability to use the metric system
* Computer literacy (minimally email, word and data processing)
* State boiler license preferred (or obtained within 18 months of employment)
* Refrigeration Certification preferred (or obtained within 18 months of employment)
* Ability to handle chemicals and/or work in an environment where chemicals are present
* Be mechanically adept and able to apply mechanical fundamentals to properly operate, maintain, and improve the performance of the equipment within their area of responsibility
* Availability to work overtime if/when required to do so
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand or walk for extended periods of time and occasionally required to kneel, crouch, or crawl
* Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distant vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and differentiate colors
* Ability to frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds with assistance
