Position Overview:

The Design Engineer will manage the maturing of engineering designs and tests to bring new products to market. This candidate must be strong in Problem Solving time management, creative thinking, achieve departmental KPIs, and be adaptable when new projects and priorities are provided.

Responsibilities and Duties Include and Are Not Limited to:
  • Manage design updates and project timelines to meet customer needs
  • Define and schedule testing required for engineering builds to determine future product viability
  • Participate in driving Engineering Change Requests to completion
  • Work closely with strategic sourcing and suppliers to convey understanding of company needs and expectations for future products.
  • Work closely with Program Managers to meet design goals for projects in a timely manner
  • Perform failure analysis on prototype and production level parts
  • Drive cost of products to project goals utilizing design efficiency, design manufacturability and part communizing
  • Analyze test data, discuss and conclude test reports from the Test Engineering team
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineers to help resolve product issues
  • Support Research & Development components and projects as needed
Required: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and a minimum of 3-5 years' experience is required; Experience with Advanced CAD Modeling and Drawing Creation using PTC Creo or equivalent software preferred.

Preferred: Experience or knowledge with brake systems, chassis or related product.
