YOUR ROLE

  • The Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs Specialist will ensure and execute all necessary hazard communication and regulatory compliance to downstream customers using Henkel's products.
  • Work with manufacturing, product development (PD), adhesives research (AR) and Safety Health and Environment (SHE) team members on special regulatory issues that impact Henkel and the needs of our customers.
  • Work closely with OSHA, EPA and other regulatory agencies in order to provide updates and responses to our customers and ensure continuing familiarity with all of the latest applicable regulations and toxicological information.
  • Identifies, determines applicability and timely communication of potential impact of new raw material on intermediates, finished products.
  • Registers new chemical substances, monitors global chemical inventory status, substance volume tracking and associated testing requirements.
  • Leads regional and global product safety and regulatory affairs projects.
  • Responsible for identification, determination of applicability and timely communication of
    potential impact of new raw material on intermediates and finished products.
  • Experience in the area of chemical manufacturing and import requirements as regulated by
    US EPA's Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA).
  • Responsible for implementation of Globally Harmonized System of Classification and
    Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) and applicability to local country adoption of such as US (Haz
    Comm 2012) and Canada (WHMIS 2015).


YOUR SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, food safety, toxicology, industrial hygiene or other related
    scientific discipline is required.
  • Previous experience or internship working with Environmental, Health and Safety issues in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Candidate should have general knowledge of Industrial and Consumer regulations (OSHA / WHMIS, EPA / CEPA)
  • Project Management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with an ability to work effectively with
    others.
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated.
  • Travel requirement ~ 20% max anticipated.
