Job Summary:

The person in this position will be responsible for management, innovation, and growth of all aspects of the Summer Education Research Program (SERP), the School of Education's pre-college access program, and other aspects of undergraduate student services in the School of Education's Office of Equity Diversity and Inclusion (OEDI). This will include serving as a liaison to the SoE Student Services unit. Responsibilities will include program development, fiscal management, and development of program budgets; preparation and submission of campus, state, and federal annual program reports; and assisting the Associate Dean for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion with grant writing as appropriate. Responsibilities may also include supervision, training, and evaluation of students and has potential for staff supervision. This position requires extensive contact with the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus and community and particularly requires fostering and developing relationships with personnel across the School of Education.

This position reports to the Associate Dean for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion within the School of Education. The individual who fills this position must have a demonstrated commitment to racial and social justice. The person in this position must also have a collaborative, service-oriented approach to facilitate and foster effective professional working relationships across the school and university. Must be able to balance working autonomously and as a part of a team to promote the mission of the School of Education and the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

Education:

Qualifications:

- Three years' experience leading, developing, and facilitating engagement, enhancement and/or opportunity programs for first generation, diverse and economically disadvantaged students preferred.

- Strong record of accomplishment of collaboration and implementation of new programs and new programmatic strategies, with robust outcomes (in quality, academic outcomes, growth, and revenue).

- Experience handling, prioritizing, and executing multiple projects accurately with high-quality results while maintaining a high level of customer service.

- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication and organizational skills required.

- Demonstrated competency in budget management preferred.

- Familiarity with the following TRIO and other higher education programs preferred: Student Support Services, Talent Search, Upward Bound, Upward Bound Math Science, McNair Scholars Program, Advanced Opportunity Programs, Summer and Pre-College programs, First Year and Transfer-Student programming, International Student Affairs and Study Abroad, Admissions and Financial Aid, and/or Access- and First-Generation Programming
