Senior Test Engineer
Position Overview
A Senior Test Engineer is responsible for identifying, communicating, and mitigating risk of application development throughout the SDLC through analysis, test framework implementation, automation, planning, and execution while contributing toward the development of a world class testing practice at Digi-Key.
Responsibilities
Must be able to...
- Coordinate and provide leadership on and beyond a team level in developing risk mitigation efforts through test planning, automation, design, execution, and results validation with demonstrated traceability and business transparency throughout the development process
- Provide documented requirements analysis, testing, and automation strategy by identifying and communicating testable expectations and criteria for development activities to assess, and mitigate risk surrounding project or product development efforts
- Mitigate risk from unintended impacts of development through regular regression and performance testing and by contributing to an ever growing regression suite of automated and documented tests that are integrated into the release management infrastructure
- Organize and present examples, guidance, and feedback around testing processes
- Pair with Software Engineers throughout application development to review risks and risk mitigating efforts within the application code, test code and processes

- Collaborate with development teams and architecture to design proof of concept scenarios to evaluate and demonstrate new testing technology or techniques
- Participate and contribute to the Testing Center of Excellence

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum/Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or or equivalent work experience
- Must have at least six years of relevant experience with software testing and test automation as well as mastery of basic application development and clean code skills
- Proficient and hands-on experience with test automation framework development
- Must have clear writing, communication, and analysis skills as well as strong planning and leadership skills
- Demonstrate proven ability to think logically and creatively for novel and scalable programmatic solutions in testing and self-confidence to take bold action when needed
- Previous experience with business domain areas, or software development
- Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse and screen
- Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body
- Ability to operate computer workstation hardware and software
- Must demonstrate the following behavioral competencies; analytical capacity, attention to detail, communication proficiency, continuous learning, customer/client focus, developing others, ethical conduct, information seeking, initiative, manages execution, personal effectiveness/credibility, positive attitude, problem solving, professionalism, project management, relationship building, thoroughness, and time management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an Agile development team
- Experience in collaborating with offshore software development team
- Experience with Selenium, C#, NUnit, SQL, Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Team Foundation Server or Azure DevOps Server
