Construction Manager
Work closely with the Project Manager(s) to ensure scope/schedule/budget compliance on commercial construction projects.
Essential Duties and/or Responsibilities:
- Schedule subcontractors in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
- Confer with project manager, owners, subcontractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
- Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to subcontractors, if necessary.
- Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
- Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site.
- Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
- Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
- Direct and supervise workers.
- Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
- Determine labor requirements.
- Weekly job status reports.
Experience and Education:
- 5+ years experience
- Associate Degree
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Building and Construction - Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in commercial construction.
- Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles.
- Customer Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
- Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others.
- Management of Personnel Resources - Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
- Complex Problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Public Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
- Management of Material Resources - Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work.
