WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

In this position, you will get to:
  • Coordinate global Supplier Development and Value Engineering standards and practices representing the North American supplier SD/VE functions
  • Develop and implement processes for measurement and evaluation of supplier performance and risk. Utilize performance metrics for all areas of direct responsibility to maintain alignment of team performance and company goals.
  • Collaborate with Product Management/Program Management teams to establish cost reduction roadmaps and priorities
  • Develop and implement Supplier Development and Value Engineering best practices in collaboration with nVent Electrical Sourcing Managers, Quality Leaders, Lean Managers, Engineering and other cross-functional team members to ensure our ability to source product on time, with high quality and at the best cost
  • Develop and implement best practices in ongoing supplier evaluations via onsite and remote assessment of existing supplier processes, capacity, capability, management systems, engineering, supply management and other processes
  • Participate in and lead escalated supplier qualification, conduct supplier performance reviews, diagnose systemic performance issues, coordinate improvement activities inclusive of Kaizen events and monitoring activities, administer supplier scorecards and participate in supplier business reviews


YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Supply Management, Quality, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management or other related field or a Bachelor's degree with appropriate Supplier Development experience
  • Master's degree preferred
  • 5 years of related experience in either Supplier Development, Supply Management, or other area of expertise with direct supplier engagement
  • Knowledge of Supplier Development methodologies
  • Developed skills in negotiation and conflict resolution including the ability to address difference of opinions or facts and use the most appropriate method to reach an effective solution
