Position Purpose

Sleep Number is seeking a Sr. Benefits Analyst to join our Total Rewards team! This position will administer, process, and manage company health and welfare benefit and wellness programs while ensuring compliance with governing plan documents and benefit legislation. The Sr. Benefits Analyst operates as a liaison between vendors and employees and actively manages day-to-day vendor relationships, in addition to providing analytical and administrative support for compliance initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day vendor management and coordination, including resolution of escalated issues and problem cases
  • Oversee compliance activity ensuring ACA, 5500s and nondiscrimination testing are completed accurately and timely, including the identification and correction of issues
  • Ensure administration of plans complies with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, ERISA, ACA, and Tax Code
  • Administer health and welfare benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, FSAs, supplemental benefits, and COBRA
  • Assist in the analysis, research, development and implementation of employee benefits programs to align with business objectives and total rewards strategy.
  • Maintain applicable plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and other plan operational documentation and information
  • Provide training and guidance to HR Operations to ensure team members are provided accurate responses to inquiries
  • Provide technical research, plan interpretation and educational support to HR staff
  • Review and coordinate team member communications such as annual enrollment materials, benefit newsletters and publications
  • Identify opportunities to enhance benefit processes and procedures to improve department efficiencies and the team member experience
  • Manage benefits open enrollment
  • Audit benefits data, perform reconciliations, and coordinate benefits administration
  • Collect and analyze statistical data, prepare HRIS reports, and complete surveys using various tools
  • Conduct or contribute to special projects as requested or needed.?

Position Requirements

  • 5+ years progressive HR experience with expertise in benefits, administration, compliance and vendor relations
  • B.A. or B.S. degree in business or human resources required or equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • Demonstrated strong financial and data analysis skills
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of current benefit related governmental regulations
  • Demonstrates high empathy, respect and ability to maintains confidentiality
  • Ability to synthesize information and draw out key themes, trends, and risks to develop recommendations
  • Ability to develop trusting relationships with business leaders and cross-functional teams
  • Skilled at framing issues around difficult topics; highly effective at communicating to a range of audiences
