Patient Scheduling Representative

Summary:Our west Madison healthcare client is in need of Patient Scheduling Representatives to assist in their ENT department. The ideal candidate will have 6 months of office experience, bonus points for knowledge of medical terminology! This role is anticipated to last 3 months with potential to be hired. Hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and pay is $15 /hour based on experience.
Responsibilities:

• Answer incoming phone calls and make outbound phone calls, gather information and route appropriately
• Check in patients
• Cancel and reschedule appointments
• Make walk-in appointments
• Check out patients and print after visit summaries
• Schedule appointments via phone, in person or via electronic correspondence including follow up appointments
• Coordinate appointments for patients in other clinics including Lab and Radiology appointments
• Manage electronic worklists
• Manage templates for day to day edits and reschedules
• Promote and assist patients in kiosk use
• Create and maintain patient records
• Collect copays, pre-payments and outstanding balances
• Manage visit prior authorization and referral requirements
• Assist with the orientation and training of other employees
• Perform other duties as business needs require

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in an office setting
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Previous experience in healthcare or patient scheduling preferred
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Attention to detail and strong organization skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Must be willing to submit necessary immunization records as requested
• Willingness to complete drug screen and background check upon accepted offer
