PURPOSE: Manage the profitable construction of industrial projects from start to finish while building and maintaining internal and external relationships. The goal is to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to contract requirements and meet or exceed gross profit margins.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Negotiate and communicate to achieve project goals in the face of adversity.
- Develop and maintain client base promoting construction and service of mechanical systems

- Perform as Bid Captain working with the customer, estimators, engineers, and designers to
- Perform takeoffs and develop estimates for sheet metal duct, industrial sheet metal and
- Attend Project Turnover Meeting (If Bid Captain, then Lead Turnover Meeting) and develop
- Break down project budgets and prepare project booking.
- Review the contract agreement to be certain the scope of work, inclusions, and exclusions are properly delineated.
- Ensure the contract is reviewed by Executive Management, signed, and returned with necessary supporting information (e.g. insurance certificate, change order rates)
- Accountable to fulfill the requirements of the agreement and achieve exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Bottom line accountable to protect and grow the gross profit on the project.
- Manage and control the cost of materials and labor for each project.
- Manage cash flow by implementing a billing plan with the goal of cash in excess of cost plus profit.
- Identify and manage risk ??? of financial loss, claims, or other entanglements.
- Be proactive and cooperative with Local Authorities regarding code compliance and Regulatory issues.
- Implement project planning and communication tools.
- Partner with field Foremen to ensure the labor, material, tools, subcontractors, and information is in the right place at the right time.
- Manage change - profitably.
- Manage Tasks - define the task, communicate the budget to complete the task, establish the deadline, and follow up to ensure timely cost-effective, and accurate completion.
- Manage Engineering team for design efficiency producing documents and installation strategies that facilitate cost-effective construction and timely completion.
- Work with the project team to maximize pre-fabrication advantages.
- Instill a sense of urgency on the project - address issues promptly as they arise.
- Act as quality control and assure that industry standards and project objectives are met.
- Ensure the construction safety rules and regulations are met.
- Ensure that client policy and procedures are consistently implemented across the project.
- Collaborate with Management - prepare progress and profit forecast reports - attend meetings - at stipulated times.
- Lead Post Mortem meeting to capture misalignments between estimate stage and actual experience, impediments to productivity, impacts that affected profitability, gross profit performance, and lessons learned.
- Mentor fellow employees to enhance their skill sets.
- Participate in trade associations and other networking activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Knowledge of supervisory principles, practices, and techniques.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, construction or related field, or relevant experience.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience with estimating and construction of industrial systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including listening, negotiating, and reasoning.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of construction costs and estimating procedures.
- Excellent planning and organizing skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to provide vision to the project team.
