Structural Drafter

The Structural Designer contributes to the overall success of our company and its heavy industrial customers by preparing various construction documents. Works collaboratively within the Design/Build team with Architects, Structural Engineers and Designers in creating construction documents for buildings, equipment platforms and foundations, deep foundations, silos and bin foundations, structural steel, facility inspections, masonry walls, retaining walls, cofferdam designs, etc.

1. As part of the Design/Build team, works with Architects and Structural Engineers to create construction documents for projects including structural plans, elevations, sections and details and framing/foundation framing plans and details.

2. Produces foundation and framing plan drawings from sketches, existing drawings and electronic images.

3. Uses all available technological resources to create designs for proposals and construction. i.e. Revit, 3D modeling, etc. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of software and available technology.

4. Prepares clear, complete and accurate Revit Structural drawings as directed by the engineering project team.

5. Prepares accurate documentation throughout all phases of assigned projects.

6. Ensures that documents and drawings are maintained from pre-design through construction documentation.

7. Maintains and helps implement REVIT guideline manual.

8. Participates in site visits as required, for design production.

9. Reviews vendor shop drawings.

10. Coordinates project information with owners and vendors.

11. Participates in all pertinent Safety Training and Safety Meetings, and plays a positive, proactive active role in promoting safety requirements on the job-site.

12. Wears all assigned PPE and observes safety guidelines at all times.

13. Due to project deadlines and demands, regular and reliable attendance is required.

14. Completes all related reports and paperwork in a timely manner.

15. Represents the company brand in a positive, professional manner at all times.

16. All other duties as assigned.
