Position Overview

The Project Manager team is responsible for creating & managing the knowledge concerned with principles, techniques, and tools used in planning, control, monitoring, and review of projects. They will create & educate the company on Process Improvement best methods and approaches. They will govern all projects tagged as Process Improvement. They will manage the Process Improvement Project Pipeline, assist in the review of Portfolio Management (Systems, Tools), create & evolve various business process & procedures.

The Process Improvement Sr. Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple medium to large size projects concurrently. The positions focus is to effectively plan, lead, organize, and motivate project teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering projects that provide exceptional business value to the organization. They will bring together staff from various functional areas for the purpose of facilitating the team to plan, formulate and agree on comprehensive process improvement measures. The Sr. Project Manager will identify key areas for improvement including system changes to reduce the risk of error to the customer. The Sr. Project Manager will create and lead Lean Six Sigma trainings/Project Management trainings. This position will mentor multiple Project Managers, Associate Project Managers and Green Belts through project facilitation, project management and project execution.

This is an essential onsite role, and will require some onsite attendance.

Responsibilities

Must be able to...
  • Expertise in project management principles and practices
  • Manage multiple small-medium size projects concurrently
  • Lead large efforts which scale across multiple teams
  • Ability to interface with both technical and non-technical Managers and team members
  • Mentor other Project Managers on business process tools and best practices
  • Work closely with business partners to align objectives, balance resources and achieve deliverables
  • Knowledge of business principles and practices
  • Attend meetings, conferences and seminars; locally & nationally
  • Other duties as assigned including but not limited to possible reallocation of efforts to other organizations per business need and management request.


Other Typical Tasks May also Include:
  • Taking on additional responsibilities from Sr. Project Manager/Program Manager as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Minimum/Essential Qualifications:
  • Typically 4-8 years of experience in Operational Excellence, Business, Engineering, Design & Development or similar area of study or equivalent, relevant work experience
  • Candidate is versed in a variety of functions of Digi-Key, how they work together as well as the industry Digi-Key operates in, as well as the impact & responsibility Digi-Key has to the community it operates in
  • Candidate is a strong representative of Digi-Key brand and its principles
  • Knowledge of Digi-Key brand and its principles
  • Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse and screen
  • Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body
  • Must be able to perform the following behavioral competencies; attention to detail, communication proficiency, customer/client focus, ethical conduct, initiative, manages execution, personal effectiveness/credibility, positive attitude, problem solving, process improvement capacity, professionalism, project management, thoroughness and time management
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Development, Business Administration or similar area of study or equivalent, relevant work experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
