Position Information

Forest Stewardship Assistant - Temporary, Part time.

Location: Bottineau, Lisbon, Walhalla or remote location in ND. This position is office-based with travel rarely required.

Responsibilities:
  • Contacting landowners and partner agency staff to request various documentation relating to technical and financial forestry assistance. Responding to questions and forwarding to appropriate full-time staff.
  • Receiving, reviewing and organizing documentation.
  • Assisting with program and project status tracking.
  • Working proactively to ensure all deadlines are met.

Required Experience and Skills:
  • Highly motivated, dedicated, outgoing, confident and ethical.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Computer experience (MS Word, Excel, email)
  • Adaptable to change.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Ability and desire to work as part of a team and with staff and partners.

    Preferred Experience:
  • Experience working directly with landowners providing technical and financial assistance for forestry or related conservation practices.
  • Working understanding of the principals of Forest Stewardship.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Experience with the proper application of the NRCS practices and specifications relating to forestry, tree establishment and renovation practices.

Compensation: $20.00 per hour; negotiable DOE.
