POSITION SUMMARY

Our U.S. Oil Finance team is seeking a Controller to all accounting, finance, and reporting activities for the business units assigned. We are looking for an experienced leader skilled in analyzing data and technologies to drive better business decisions, collaborating with others to develop creative solutions, and optimizing processes to increase efficiency.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

* Interact with operation managers to identify and/or provide support to planning and growth initiatives through financial and management information analysis, reports, and recommendations
* Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of the accounting systems and procedures necessary to promote profitable operations, safeguard company assets, and ensure compliance with both GAAP and applicable regulations
* Prepare and analyze reports and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances, and other financial results and makes recommendations to drive profitable growth
* Participate in due diligence, purchase accounting, and subsequent integration into current operations of business acquisitions
* Interact with and advise the management team, sales, and operations managers on the financial impact of operational decisions
* Supervise and help prepare timely and accurate financial statements and Board of Directors materials
* Participate in strategic planning for assigned business units
* Lead the forecasting and budgeting processes
* Perform GAAP research and prepare GAAP memos as needed
* Ensure necessary internal controls are in place and functioning as designed for assigned business units
* Oversee divisional requirements for the annual audit and assist with preparation of audit documents
* Identify and implement solutions to continue to transform the finance function from transactional to more analytical through leveraging of technology
* Hire, train, develop, and evaluate direct reports

QUALIFICATIONS

* 4-year accounting or finance degree required; Master's degree preferred
* CPA preferred
* Broad level of accounting and managerial experience required
* Proven leader with high professional ethics and unquestionable integrity
* Good decision maker who is well organized and can prioritize and plan ahead
* Excellent communicator and listener who is assertive yet personable and flexible
* Advanced knowledge of information technology
* Supervisory skills and demonstrated ability to work with a diverse organization where group interaction, communication, and human relations are critical
* Strong drive to find ways to use technology to accomplish business objectives
* An excellent problem solver who can investigate an issue, find the cause, make necessary corrections, and formulate/communicate new policies if necessary
