Job Details

Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, organize, maintain, and efficiently complete various duties and documentation associated with Human Resources functions, including application tracking, recruitment, onboarding, benefits, HR information systems, and general duties associated with Human Resources.

1) Provides staff support in licensing and negotiated contract agreements.
Tracks and processes lane changes based on the negotiated schedule.
Reports leaves to the Teacher Retirement Association (TRA)
Completes the annual Staff Automated Reporting (STAR) System for the Minnesota Department of Education to report assignment and licensure of current licensed staff.
Maintains information about current staff licensure and communicates licensure and renewal information.
Records all continuing education hours with PELSB and provides support to the Continuing Education Committee
Serves as a primary contact with PELSB for updates and questions
Collects information and prepares reports to assist management in the collective bargaining process.
Manages system contract processing for payroll for administrators, teachers, professional staff and educational support personnel according to their negotiated settlements and agreements.
Issues professional contracts for teaching staff.
Assists retiring employees in the steps necessary to prepare for retirement benefits.

2) Provides support to district-wide recruitment and hiring practices.
Manages the applicant tracking system.
Prepares posting and closing information for open positions, internally and externally.
Sends correspondence to unsuccessful applicants for each vacancy.
Provides support to leadership in recruitment of employees, including scheduling interviews. and creating interview materials.
Provides support to potential applicants as needed.
Attends networking and recruitment opportunities.
Supports the new hire and orientation process.
Supports new employees to process new hire paperwork.
Provides contract information and salary and wage verifications.

3) Maintenance and monitoring of district records
Creates and maintains personnel files, including filing paper and scanning documents into the electronic records system.
Maintains and posts seniority lists for all contracted groups.
Monitors unrequested leaves (layoff/recall lists), probationary teachers, sabbatical leaves.
Prepares payroll changes monthly.

4) Provides support to additional human resources functions and processes
Provides leadership and support to employee wellness functions district-wide.
Participates in the health insurance committee.
Provides back-up support to the Substitute Employee Management System.
Provides support to other employee functions as directed by the Director of Human
Resources.

4) General administrative support
Prepares correspondence including memos, reports, agendas, and documents.
Assists with projects
Coordinates meetings and supplies as needed
Obtains, gathers and edits data as necessary.
Performs other support functions as requested.

5) Professional Development
Attends training sessions, district in-services or staff meetings

Education and Experience:
Associates degree in human resources or related field; and/or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above described duties.
Minimum of two years of experience in a similar or like position.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in human resources or related field
PHR or SHRM-CP Certification

Wage Range: $25.07-$29.60 per hour
