GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Jenkins Living Center LPN, under the direct supervision of an RN, supports providers (physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants) in the provision of patient care; includes recording vital signs, discussing chief health concerns, performing testing, and administering injections; assists with procedures and documentation. Manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through the use of the nursing process and the principles of nursing in accordance with facility and SD State Facility of Health policies and procedures. Supervision of NAT/CNA’s.
Qualifications
EDUCATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of an NLN accredited school of nursing required
Current SD Board of Nursing registration required
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience preferred; prior geriatric experience preferred.

Jenkins Living Center, Inc., is a free-standing, non-profit health care corporation offering a full-continuum of quality geriatric care. The skilled nursing facility, Jenkins Living Center, is licensed by the South Dakota Department of Health, and is both Medicare and Medicaid certified.
The Jenkins’ organization opened its doors in 1958, due in large part to an expansive fund-raising effort by a group of dedicated Methodist citizens in Watertown. Over the ensuing years, the organization experienced consistent growth – both in size and scope of services. Expansion projects in the ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s and today have increased the licensed bed capacity of the skilled nursing facility to its present level of 162 to include a complete rehabilitation program for inpatient and outpatient care.
During that same time frame, the visionary Board of Directors of Jenkins Living Center, Inc., also added to the scope of services to include Senior Apartments,a secure unit for Alzheimer’s care, and an inpatient/outpatient Rehabilitation Program.
