As a Regulatory Affairs Analyst, you will be an individual contributor in our Legal, Regulatory Affairs and Compliance team. This role requires you to be nimble as you work with government agencies as well as our highly matrixed business. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Consult and coordinate with internal departments to draft forms for new product initiatives to be offered in the marketplace
  • Draft policy forms for state requirements, consult with internal departments to ensure forms can be supported internally and reflect marketing initiatives
  • File policy forms with each states Department of Insurance and guide them through approval. Draft correspondence and/or engage in verbal communication to explain forms issues to state regulators, advocating for regulatory compliance resolutions and determinations
  • Review newly enacted laws and update existing product forms for compliance
  • Brochure and document review including proofreading and auditing for compliance with approved product policy forms
  • Respond to inquiries, requests and actions by regulators, including complaints, market conduct actions, and requests for assistance
  • Handle other regulatory research and review new laws/regulations/guidance
  • Review, analyze, and document proposed and newly enacted laws/regulations/guidance on both the state and federal levels and update existing product forms to ensure compliance
  • Work with internal publishing department to implement policy forms issuance for new product initiatives and policy forms for updates to existing products for new laws/regulations
  • Maintain and update department tracking data

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience working in managed care or health insurance
  • Experience with regulatory or compliance
  • Proficient in MS Office (word and excel)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to effectively understand and communicate detailed and complex information verbally and written with others.
  • Experience working with insurance policy forms for product initiatives
  • Advanced experience performing online research, specifically around state statutes and regulations.
  • Experience in a health care regulatory environment; managed care and/or compliance expertise.
  • Solid analytical, problem solving, decision-making and time management skills; ability to exercise sound judgment, including when to escalate or seek guidance.
  • Experience responding to correspondence/inquiries from a variety of stakeholders (external customers, internal customers, executives and regulators)

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $54,400 to $97,000. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $60,000 to $106,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
