Job Details
As a Construction Project Estimator, you will utilize all available resources to inform the Development and Construction Team as well as outside Clients on the most current construction valuation data enabling them to make decisions regarding their project. The Estimator may provide a wide range of deliverables from conceptual project estimates to detailed individual scope analysis and will be continuously challenged to find innovative cost saving strategies.
Requirements:
Conceptual Estimate
Schematic Design Estimate
Design Development Estimate
Construction Documents / Final Bid Estimate
Perform quantity takeoffs and stay current on unit prices
Consult with major trade partners on material and labor costs
Review and understand drawings and specifications
Lead preconstruction estimating on assigned Projects
Coordinate scope and budget with Owner and Architect
Create bid scope packages and administer bidding process.
Assist in procurement of Design-Build Subcontracts
Create Value Engineering Log and assemble pricing on various alternates
Solidify final scope, schedule, and cost
Prepare final Schedule of Values, GMP documentation, Sworn Construction Statements
Compare estimated vs. Actual costs & productivity
Assist Project Manager with change pricing as needed
Participate in monthly project reviews to review project buyout status and financials
Review and assist Project Manager with cost projections
Participate in Job startup meetings with project team
Analyze and document original bid vs. Final actual costs
Participate in business development activities and company sponsored events
Develop relationships with Clients, Architects, Engineers Consultants and Subcontractors.
Perform market research in new and existing markets
Foster relationships and develop bidders' interest in new and existing markets
Attend and participate in PM and other company meetings
Attend training and professional development that is relevant to the position
Advise on and implement estimating software
