Summary

This position is responsible for providing technical leadership in the development and procurement of electronic components associated with PCBA and LCD manufacturing within Baxter Healthcare. The technical sourcing manager position is to develop technical strategy in supporting of sourcing activities and development of supplier base associated with electronics components, EMS, LCD, and PCB manufacturers to meet business unit needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical roadmap on electronics from a component engineering and future technology development for next generation of electronics components.

  • Responsible for defining, planning and execution of improvement projects for electronics, including process improvements and operational excellence improvements using DMAIC/six sigma/LEAN principles to drive high capability processes

  • Responsible for developing suppliers from capability and capacity standpoint to ensure that the components meet quality requirements per specification as well as on time in full (OTIF) deliveries.

  • Manage supplier notice of change (SnC) lifecycle to ensure timely closures with related to electronic components.

  • Liaison with R&D to de-risk current technology platforms and develop next generation of suppliers and technology to mitigate risks and increase leverage.

  • Provide technical leadership to cross functional team to drive cost improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 5 years of work experience or Masters in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 3 years of work experience

  • Experience working on electronics components (i.e. actives, passives, semi-conductor, memory, fabrication, PCB)

  • Experience in a regulated and highly technical environment preferred, such as experience in the Automotive, Aerospace, OEM, and/or Medical Device industries Preferred

  • Experience working with Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) / Contract Manufacturing vendors

  • Project management skills, familiar with MS Project.

  • Expertise in performing validations (e.g. IQ/OQ/PQs, Gage R&Rs, TMVs, PFMEAs/DFMEAS, etc.)

  • Experience with component/product development lifecycle in the regulated medical device industry

  • Experience with leading DMAIC/ six sigma/ Lean projects to improve

  • Strong ethical background.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal, analytical and presentation skills.
