Overview:

Join the Connexus Energy team as our Manager, Applications and Data. The Manager, Applications and Data is responsible for delivering effective business application solutions, and growing and maturing our data culture to increase focus on using data as a problem-solving and information dissemination tool. This position will supervise and blend a diverse team of application and data experts as a working leader as well as facilitate team tasks and priority, align with desired business benefits. This position does support a hybrid work arrangement, sharing work hours between your home office and our campus.

Key Responsibilities & Results:

  • Drive growth and expansion of data warehouse data sets. Advocate the use of data across the company as a new lens to view our challenges.
  • Deliver a decentralized data user environment. Partner with leadership across the organization to identify data spokes, train them, and keep data in front of them. Navigate any bottlenecks they encounter. Monitor user self-service tools - description of data available, access to data, quality of validation. Communicate regular updates, trends, and results in leadership, department, and core team meetings.
  • Institute and administer governance of the data warehouse and toolsets. Coordinate with information security standards.
  • Coordinate enterprise training, documentation, and collaboration for data tools.
  • Oversee production issue response and resolution
  • Proactive management of application and data incidents, service requests, and SLA performance
  • Application upgrade/patching testing and migration activities
  • Lead regular application core team management meetings. Provide transparency in prioritization and resourcing decisions.
  • Evaluate application and data environments; execute projects to track to the company strategic roadmap. Maintain a current application and data five-year roadmap.
  • Propose annual budget (people, dollars, infrastructure) to meet strategic goals and follow technology roadmap, as well as manage operations.
  • Manage and cultivate vendor relationships.
  • Prioritize work to meet business needs and execute planned budget.


Required Talents, Skills, Expertise, Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems or related field
  • Minimum 10 years' experience implementing and supporting business technology infrastructure
  • Three years of progressive leadership experience, 5+ years preferred


Preferred Talents, Skills, Expertise, Education:

  • Master's degree
  • Information security certification or coursework
  • Project Management experience
  • Five years of supervisory experience
  • Understanding of key business and utility technologies and applications: outage management, billing, accounting, asset management, geographical systems, cloud architectures, data architectures, development lifecycles and trends
  • Familiar with information security concepts, best practices, and incident response
  • Process mapping expertise (six sigma, lean, Kanban, etc)
  • Adept at change management and leading change
  • Strong vendor management background, familiar with reviewing and negotiating vendor contracts
  • Ability to communicate a vision and roadmap effectively. Bring key messages to life concisely and clearly.
