The Sr Financial Consultant is responsible for providing business analytics for decision support, financial reporting, annual and long-term strategic planning, quarterly forecasting and supporting the execution of contractual finance requirements unique to Hearing. Business analytics include sales, SG&A, provider performance, product line profitability, membership, costs, and other areas of business. This role will work with key senior leaders to ensure the business is operating effectively, with sound financial analysis and appropriate financial and operating controls.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Financial Consultant supports the financial planning & analysis for UnitedHealthcare Hearing business, partnering with the local leadership team to meet the growth and profitability objectives of the business
  • This role will work with multiple shared services teams (i.e., controllership, SG&A, capital, IT/Reporting, audit, tax, treasury, quality assurance, etc.) to account for costs and update and maintain financial forecasts as well as monthly accounting/reporting
  • Frequent analysis of operating expenses, identifying trends, variances, and potential performance opportunities and/or concerns at the account level
  • Assist in developing business level sales, cost & SG&A metrics to enable business leaders to make informed decisions around pricing and FTE management
  • Assist in Capital project development, analysis, and reporting of investment benefits
  • Support development of business case for strategic initiatives and/or capital investments
  • Manage and collaborate with UHC Controllership on all Intersegment agreements
  • This role will be expected to assist on occasion with RFP development and implementations post award, as well as other existing contract reviews
  • Models and promotes the core values of the UnitedHealthcare Hearing

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related area
  • 5+ years of experience in progressive financial planning and analysis experience in a corporate setting with career progression leading to increased financial responsibility and strategic planning oversight
  • 3+ years of experience and knowledge of UHC Hearing's business model
  • Solid working knowledge of financial systems, statements, and reports

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading a team of finance professionals
  • Working knowledge of Essbase, Peoplesoft or Hyperion Planning
  • Advanced knowledge of Salesforce EASE
  • Advanced proficiency in a variety of financial planning and reporting software
  • Ability to perform a wide array of situational based financial analysis
  • Solid communication skills and success partnering with, leading, and influencing multiple teams responsible for complex operations

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
