Job Title: Building Technician
Job Type: Temp to Hire
Location: Golden Valley, Minnesota
Shift/Hours: 1st shift, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Career Level: 1 to 3 years of experience Entry to Experience
Education: High School Diploma/GED
Salary: $18/hr-$23 (depending on experience)
Company Info: Our client is a rapidly growing general maintenance company providing maintenance services to multi-family housing and commercial buildings located throughout the metro area. Description: 1. Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests including light plumbing, light electrical, repairing appliances and other miscellaneous tasks. This person will be doing everything up until a licensed professional is needed. 2. Complete make-ready process of vacant apartments as directed by the Property Manager. 3. Work within expense limits established. 4. Maintain inventory controls for cost effective operations. 5. Schedule and complete the 'Preventative Maintenance Program". 6. Coordinate special projects as directed by the Property Manager. 7. Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors. 8. Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled. 9. Carry pager/cell phone as required for on-call maintenance. 10. Monitor and maintain all building systems as assigned. 11. Complete grounds work as directed by Property Manager which may include picking up trash, sweeping curb and dumpster areas and maintaining landscaping beds and other areas. 12. Responsible for alerting the Property Manager of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that have taken place or that may occur. 13. Maintain a professional courteous manner with all residents, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees. 14. Work the scheduled hours and follow the on-call requirements. 15. Complete payroll time sheets and mileage reimbursement and submit to supervisor as determined. 16. Adhere to company safety guidelines, policies, and procedure as outlined in the Employee Handbook. 17. Ensure compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner. 18. Assure safety standards are used which comply with all Company, Local, City, State and Federal guidelines. 19. Please note job duties are subject to change based on the needs of the company.
Requirements: 1. Valid Driver's License and a reliable vehicle is required to drive between work sites. 2. Must pass Kari Koskinen Manager Background Check after acceptance of job offer. 3. General plumbing, carpentry skills & electrical skills. 4. Must provide basic tool set. 5. Safely operate power and hand tools. 6. Able to meet physical requirements 7. Strong customer skills. 8. Organized. 9. Maintain a professional presence while on company time. 10. Ability to work independently or in group setting. 11. Attention to detail. 12. Willing to ask questions. 13. A positive, "can - do" attitude.
Physical Requirements: 1. Occasional Exertion of 50 to 100 pounds of force 2. Frequent 25 to 50 pounds of force. 3. Constant 10 to 20 pounds of force.
