Impact Dakota, North Dakota's Manufacturing Extension Partnership Center, is seeking a Senior Business Advisor. Successful candidate will need to live in North Dakota and will work remotely serving the entire state.

The Senior Business Advisor is responsible for the development and delivery of high value services to client companies, work successfully with decision makers and assist with client development.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Conduct company assessments to identify problems, issues, opportunities and solutions.
2. Conduct technical assistance and planning projects for clients. Examples include helping clients design and implement measurable improvements that address significant issues, needs or opportunities with quantifiable benefits and impacts, and facilitation of strategic and succession planning.
3. Serve clients through a variety of learning and presentation opportunities.
4. Identify, propose and capture client training and consulting engagements for third-party delivery. Oversee, as the principal account manager, the execution, performance, and delivery of third-party client training and consulting engagements, including follow-up client satisfaction and performance surveys.
5. Assist clients with quantifying benefits and impacts resulting from Impact Dakota services and encourage them to complete the NIST MEP survey.
6. When working with clients, continually assess their business to identify other needs they may have and suggest Impact Dakota services to address the needs.
7. Assist with client business development. Conduct sales calls to businesses and prospect for developing new clients.
8. Build long-term relationships with clients.
9. Input and maintain accurate client information in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
10. Keep up on current industry trends and identify potential new service offerings through research, attending industry functions, and listening for/observing current client needs.
11. Develop and update client service offerings.
12. Participate in staff meetings, strategic planning sessions and other organization meetings and events as appropriate.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, finance, human resources, marketing, management, or an appropriate business related field is required.

Requirements: A minimum of ten years of relevant work experience in leading the development and provision of services to businesses including manufacturing and non-manufacturing firms; prior track record of achievement in positions with significant accountability; PC proficiency; ability to travel overnight throughout North Dakota; strong presentation skills; excellent communication skills - both verbal and in writing.

Desired: Continuous improvement certification and significant experience leading and implementing continuous improvement projects such as lean, six sigma, etc. Experience implementing and auditing ISO9001 (or similar) industry standards. Significant leadership and work experience in helping organizations with innovation, automation/ industry 4.0, enterprise transformation, strategic growth and/or technology solutions. Significant experience working in a manufacturing organization. Significant experience working with a variety of different manufacturers. Experience in industries related to manufacturing (i.e. construction, distribution and energy). Non‐profit and public sector knowledge is valued.
