Your role as a Vendor Manager will help OptumServe identify the right partnerships with agencies, subcontractors, and vendors to provide the staffing and services we need to fulfill our client obligations. Vendor Management is a growing organization within OptumServe Shared Services and is positioned to support all OptumServe business units. We perform critical work for our nation's most vulnerable populations. You will find your place and purpose working within OptumServe working alongside many veterans, in a diverse workplace.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendor partners
  • Work closely with assigned business unit to support vendor hiring and placement
  • Collaborate with other vendor managers to address gaps in staffing and client risk
  • Effectively communicate with vendor partners to solve staffing issues
  • Develop pipeline talent with multiple vendor partners to prepare for hiring
  • Hold weekly calls with assigned vendor partners to identify and resolve any issues
  • Work with OptumServe Legal, Human Capital, and Compliance to develop new contracts, update contracts, and modify language to meet growing and changing business needs.
  • Review vendor performance on a regular basis to identify areas of risk
  • Review performance with vendors and business units to identify path to improvement
  • Prepare presentations and worksheets to be shared with our leadership team to convey vendor performance
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities
  • Protect OptumServe from risk and liability by writing, enforcing, and adhering to compliance and legal standards
  • Conduct Quarterly and Annual Business Reviews
  • Drives change and process adoption through collaboration, relationship building and solutioning

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, communications OR High School Diploma / GED with equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of supplier, vendor, account management or sourcing and procurement or related operations experience working with third party vendors.
  • Proficiency with MS Office - Microsoft PowerPoint (create, edit, and format presentations), Microsoft Excel (create and edit spreadsheets) and Microsoft Word (creating, editing, saving, formatting)
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance. Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree of Business Administration
  • Vendor Management experience
  • Familiarity with common pay practices
  • Experience managing contracting processes and procedures
  • Experience managing highly complex programs
  • Proficiency in data and analytics
  • Broad healthcare experience
Telecommuting Requirements:
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 - $116,000. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $71,400 - $127,400. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
