The Opportunity

A Mechanical Engineer strives to balance superior design and speed to market with cost, manufacturability, and the highest quality products always top of mind. They develop and manage internal and external relationships with Server employees, customers, and others to fulfill the new, essential and customer specific product/equipment needs of our customers and the overall organization.

Responsibilities

• Design new products and redesign existing products, meeting engineering standards, applicable codes, customer specifications, and within cost constraints
• Ensure conformance to all required safety certifications (i.e.: UL, NSF, CE), and company standards for quality and manufacturability
• Create product models and design layouts in the computerized system
• Perform mechanical and electrical calculations when required
• Participate in cross-functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing, design, and quality problems, and ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes and methods
• Keep informed of new parts or methods to improve products or product designs
• Develop and manage project timelines with the assistance of Project Manager

Requirements

• Manufacturing experience including assembly, plastics, and sheet metal fabrication
• Strong knowledge of engineering and quality methodologies (DFEMA, APQP, PPAP)
• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor or similar design software
