This is a paid Electrical Apprenticeship program opportunity. The apprenticeship is composed of a combination of education through Madison College and hands on experince working in production with the Electricians at Trachte. The primary responsibilities of the Electrical Apprentice will be to learn and assist Electricians in the the following duties:
Install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment
Gain knowledge of all types of electrical conduit so as to measure, cut, bend, tread, assemble and install
Build Familiarity with 120/240 single phase, 120/240V delta 3 phase, 120/208V 3 phase, and 277/480V 3 phase systems
Splice wires and/or terminate wires to lighting, power and control equipment
Connect power cables to equipment
Implement a working knowledge of the NEC
Requirements
Commitment to the Electrical Apprenticeship at Trachte for 4 years (minimum 8,320 hours) and an additional 2 year commitment to working at Trachte upon completion of the program
Attending Madison College for paid related instruction as part of the Electrical Apprenticeship program (minimum 720 hours)
Applicants must pass a math and reading test for college readiness (passing ACT scores will be accepted)
Applicants will also be subject to a color blind test
One to two years of prior experience and/or training in the construction or electric trade preferred
Willing to work overtime, as needed
