Primary Objective of Position:

The Qualify Engineer will develop and improve the Company's quality management systems, processes, and practices necessary for ISO compliance and with intent to deliver products and services recognized by our customers as having world class quality, reliability and perceived value, while supporting Company responsiveness to enhance customer satisfaction.

Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Collect and report field failure data and production yield data
  • Document and drive corrective and preventive actions
  • Maintain the quality performance measurement system
  • Resolve issues identified by the incoming inspection function
  • Provide assistance to and support the final inspection function
  • Work with appropriate Circuit Check personnel to resolve production quality issues
  • Support customer audits, respond to customer inquiries regarding quality issues, and implement appropriate corrective actions as required for customer quality problem resolution
  • Support external quality and regulatory audits
  • Perform audits of company's quality management system and process controls
  • Provide performance data to managers, production groups, and suppliers as needed
  • Develop product quality plans and related production assembly and inspection procedures assuring that product quality/reliability goals are met
  • Support training of personnel on quality procedures and methods including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Support continuous improvement projects
  • Train personnel on quality processes and methodologies


Education and Experience:

  • 4-year technical degree
  • At least 3 years of experience working in an electronics or electromechanical environment
  • In lieu of degree, equivalent experience in an electromechanical manufacturing environment would suffice.
  • Experience performing internal auditing of a quality management system
  • Experience interacting with suppliers and customers

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of quality management systems
  • Ability to perform internal audits of the quality management system
  • Ability to analyze quality data to reach conclusions about changes which may be required to improve process and product quality
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
  • Strong analytical skills; able to offer solutions to difficult quality problems
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Capacity to deal with a high workload and deadline pressure
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Requires a strong initiative, proactive nature, and a sense of urgency


Physical Requirements (these physical requirements must be performed with or without accommodation):

  • Majority of time is spent in usual office working conditions
  • Ability to sit for extended lengths of time is required; bend, reach, stoop and twist as required
  • Heavy use of an office computer for completing work
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration; risk of electrical shock
  • Regular exposure to manufacturing areas which may entail exposure to dirt, dust, noise, machine chemicals, fumes, and other attributes common to this environment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to travel as necessary and work extended hours as job duties demand
