A growing technology company in Cold Spring, Minnesota is seeking a Payroll/Accounting/HR position.

This is a fulltime position which provides support to a fast-growing technology company. This position reports to the company's General Manager.

Duties to be performed:

  • Review, assign G/L code and process vendor invoices for payment in Accounts Payable systems; assuring vendor's invoices are paid accurately and timely. Preparing and mailing checks and maintaining accounts payable vendor files.
  • Compiles and records employee time and payroll data.
  • Enters biweekly payroll information and adjustments into the system to guarantee payroll paid accurately, timely, and smoothly. Train new hires on timekeeping system to ensure understanding of timecard, PTO usage, etc.
  • Administers all Employee Benefits, Family Medical Leave (FMLA), COBRA, and all other leaves including Worker's Comp leaves. Reconciles employee benefit monthly statements and brings any irregularities to management.
  • Administers the recruiting efforts for all open positions, schedules interviews with managers, conducts references and background checks, and on-boards new employees. Assists with facilitating orientations. Verifies I-9 documentation and maintains current and terminated files.
  • Other duties as assigned including, but not limited to: Prepare bank deposits. Answering phones. Reviewing employee expense reports. Work with employment agencies. Schedule travel arrangements for offsite workforce. Annual review of Employee Benefits and Employee Handbook with Senior Leadership. Writing and maintaining SOPs.
  • Qualifications

  • Ability to meet deadlines, excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Work is fast paced, requires analytic skills, and includes data input and filing.
  • The position requires experience with basic accounting and personnel concepts, attention to detail, and the ability to be trained quickly.
  • Proficiency using Quick Books, Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word.
  • Two-year degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Diverse economic, social, or cultural experiences are a plus.
  • SALARY/BENEFITS: Hourly position. The starting wage will be based on experience. Benefits include health insurance, life insurance, vacation long-term disability insurance, and SIMPLE IRA program.
