This is a full time, exempt position out of our main office in Rapid City, SD.

This position is expected to travel to job fairs and seek out new venues for recruitment opportunities - via in person, virtual, and social media platforms.

This position will report to the HR Manager.

Job Summary

The Human Resources Generalist will run the daily functions of the HR department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering benefits and coordinating leaves, and answering general questions about company policies and procedures. The HR Generalist will also work with the organization's new, current, and former employees to assist in the hiring, onboarding, and training processes. research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization. This position must adhere to all the rules and policies as well as ensuring the organization's practices comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities and Duties

+ Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.

+ Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

+ Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.

+ Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale

+ Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

+ Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

+ Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

+ Collaborates with management team to identify and receive detailed hiring criteria for needs.

+ Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.

+ Responsible for job postings and advertisement processes.

+ Screens applications and selects qualified candidates - this position will select and create job offers through our applicant tracking and onboarding system.

+ Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.

+ Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.

+ Coordinates, attends, and participates in job fairs, recruiting sessions, and special events

+ Take any required HR compliance training

+ Handling all cold calls that come into office inquiring about open positions

+ Assist in projects, such as; HR events, benefits open enrollment, employee communications and company-wide meetings as needed

+ Complies and prepares data for statistical reporting on recruiting

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field

+ Minimum of 1 year working in Human Resources, Recruiting, or related experience

+ Certification in aPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP is preferred or willingness to get

+ Drug Free Workplace - must take and pass pre-employment drug test

+ Proficient in handling multiple projects and ensure law and requirements are being followed

Salary range: $45,000 to $60,000 DOE
