The tooling manager should be experienced in working cross functionally on the manufacturing floor with other engineering disciplines to resolve molding problems and to implement process improvements.
The Responsibilities
Lead a team of 2-3 tooling engineers to develop new tools based in R&D and customer requirements. Mentor team member to achieve organizational, professional & personal goals. Purchase tooling. Work with operations, quality, industrial/manufacturing/engineering to implement new production processes from a tooling perspective. Work with operations, quality, industrial/manufacturing/engineering to resolve current production issues. Understand all phases of mold development. Interface with internal and external tooling vendors to implement and install new tools. Demonstrate and promote sound decisions making skills while identifying and resolving potential part design issues. Ensure compliance of ISO and Lean Manufacturing. Support a dynamic and cross functional sales, engineering, and manufacturing team. Research, analyze, recommend, and implement new technology to achieve corporate objectives.

SUCCESS PROFILE
Tooling Manager 5 years plus experience in rubber mold design; a manufacturing facility; rubber tooling experience preferred. Experience with plastic mold design is a strong plus. Experience developing and managing engineering staff in a cross functional environment. Experienced with 3D modeling, preferably using Solid works is a plus. Proven project driven results, focused on process improvement resulting in improved quality, delivery, and cost. Experience related to rubber and plastics molding and processing is a plus.
Education
