PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the uninterrupted flow of production by ensuring facilities, buildings and equipment used at the site are in good working order and in the highest state of reliability.


MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Repairs, installs, and maintains machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical systems by following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings using hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, and measuring and testing instruments.
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Dismantles machines and equipment to installs new or repaired parts.
  • May operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • May fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions and other structures of general construction and participate in moving office partitions and furniture.
  • Utilization and records updates within the company's maintenance control software.
  • Inspects and tests machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment.
  • Performs repairs and maintenance to the physical structures, buildings and property.
  • Maintains building facilities by making routine repairs including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
  • Support the annual/quarterly tests and inspections inclusive to life safety, building and equipment.
  • Works safely and complies with all established safety rules and work practices and is responsible for lock-out tag-out.
  • Liaison with the Environmental Health & Safety Manager and Engineering to ensure building systems, machinery, and equipment are operating in the safest capacity.
  • Functions as a technical resource for all departments and as such is consistently able to communicate clearly and effectively with both technical personnel and non-technical personnel in an appropriate and understandable manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in industrial maintenance or machine tool operation.
  • 2 year vocational or associate degree in machine tool or related technical discipline preferred.
  • HVAC experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and usage of basic hand/power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to perform light duty machining and welding.
  • Experience diagnosing pneumatic and hydraulic systems problems.
  • 3 phase high voltage and DC electrical knowledge required.
  • Experience with metal fabrication equipment including press brakes, welders, shears, grinders, sanders, CNC mill and lathes helpful.
  • Basic PC skills


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Anderson Dahlen fosters a manufacturing type environment. Moderately heavy work requiring the occasional lifting of objects weighing 50 pounds or less. In the performance of essential duties, the incumbent may be required to operate a variety of industrial machining tools.
