Position Description:

The Department of Public Health (DPH) at North Dakota State University invites applicants for a project manager for a full-time grant funded position through June 2023 with continuation depending on performance and availability of funding.

This person will primarily oversee a subcontracted project from the North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to study the epidemiology of COVID-19 in North Dakota. As part of the NDDoH's Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC) for Infectious Diseases grant, NDSU and the University of North Dakota have partnered to study SARS-CoV-2 infection in a convenience sample of North Dakota households. This will be accomplished by performing laboratory tests and surveys on adult household members to establish the point prevalence and the cumulative incidence of infection with SARS-CoV-2 over successive waves through 2022-2023. This project will also assess the utility and accuracy of serology testing to define the cumulative incidence of infection in a population through comparison with a measure of T-cell immunity. In addition, it will examine sociodemographic risk factors, exposures, and access to testing.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT ROLE:
  • All responsibilities will be under the direction of the Co-PIs, Dr. Pamela Jo Johnson and Dr. Paul Carson
  • Maintain communication with partners at University of ND and NDDoH
  • Update IRB submission as needed
  • Manage p roject budget, timeline, and reporting requirements
  • Coordinate study implementation
    • Coordinate recruitment of participants
    • Coordinate collection and transport of laboratory specimens
    • Coordinate blood draw events
  • Coordinate communication plans with NDSU, UND, and NDDoH communications team
  • Coordinate survey administration
    • Coordinate survey data collection and management
  • Assist with survey data analysis
  • Point of first contact for potential participants
    • Project email address and phone line connected to project manager
    • Name listed as point of contact on project materials

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Earned MPH from a CEPH-accredited institution
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex tasks with competing internal/external deadlines, ability to organize project tasks to assure that deliverables are completed within designated time frames; ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a group of diverse colleagues, students, and individuals from the university and region
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, document preparation, and at least one statistical analysis software

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge or experience with survey administration
  • Knowledge of COVID-19 epidemiology
  • Experience with research coordination, project management, or leading a research team.
  • Research experience or knowledge of infectious disease epidemiology, microbiology, or virology

Salary : $45,000+ based on qualifications
