Easter Seals Goodwill ND, Inc. is hiring full-time and part-time Direct Support Professionals in Fargo to provide direct care to adults and children with barriers. Hours and responsibilities vary for every person supported.
The biggest start time for shifts is between 2-4 pm; most shifts end between 6-10 pm. Other hours are available including morning shifts, and split shifts for those who want the work. Starting Wage: $16 to $18 hourly depending on experience
Duties: DSPs are matched with a person or family to provide services to people with disabilities. This may involve providing physical care and social support, utilizing community resources, and advocating for a safe environment. You may be asked to provide transportation to a medical appointment, assist with homework, help with meal prep or light housekeeping, etc. One workday is never the same! You may also be asked to take walks, attend community events, listen – and simply provide an ear and heart. This may be the most important, and fun and fulfilling, job you will ever hold. It looks good on a resume and can lead to a satisfying career.
Expectations: Have experience or interest in supporting people with disabilities achieve their goals and outcomes; work alone or with a team; meet and maintain background investigation requirements; commit to providing a drug-free, non-violent place for team members to live and employees to work. The organization merged with Goodwill Industries in 1996 to broaden its consumer focus and mission to include people who are socially and economically disadvantaged, as well as those who have disabilities.
