SUMMARY:

This role will use your project engineering background to understand new business and continuous improvement project requirements, equipment, process, quality, and product requirements; technical risks; and strategy for deployment and bringing project to production. You will communicate and present project status, highlight schedule risks, and work to develop recovery plans in the event of a project delays.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Coordinates/leads the development, implementation and production release of new production lines/equipment as assigned using gantt charts.
  • Develop and manage project plans using gantt charts to estimate the duration of a CapEx/New Business project and identify critical path.
  • Identify resources, both internal and external, required to support new business projects and other projects through the project lifecycle.
  • Ensures the new products engineering is coordinated with other departments to and supports company/project priorities.
  • Follow Gate Review Process that engages users and project stakeholders to ensure project meets business, product, process, safety, quality, and code requirements at key stages of the project
  • Works with Purchasing on selection and specification of raw materials and outsource vendors for tooling, building fixtures and other manufacturing operations.
  • Work directly with customers and internal sales to ensure professional communications between company, suppliers, contractors and customers is maintained.
  • Estimate and manages the costs for all aspects of assigned CapEx/New Business projects: resources, equipment, design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and qualification
  • Develop Operational layouts of manufacturing equipment that are used as the foundation for developing material flow and staging, operator locations, utility connections, and egress pathways within new or existing locations.
  • Forecast, manage, and communicate project spending throughout the business project.
  • Investigates various types of new machines and equipment with regard to versatility and diversification of production features required, prices, and other conditions involved.

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED.)
  • Project Engineering degree preferred but not required
  • 3-5 years of project management preferred
  • Team player with the ability to contribute to a cross-functional organization
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Products and other Engineering Software)
  • Gear experience preferred but not required
