TITLE: Field Service Engineer III

LOCATION: Saint Paul, MN

DURATION: 6 months with possible extension


JOB DESCRIPTION:

This family is responsible for performing customer support activities involving the installation, modification, and repair of complex equipment and systems. Conducts on-site installation and testing of equipment to ensure proper working order. Isolates equipment start-up malfunctions and takes corrective action. May make technical presentations and has a strong knowledge of products. Trains customer personnel in equipment operation and maintenance responsibilities. Represents the company in a customer support role and is responsible for customer's satisfaction with equipment and servicing.

SCOPE: Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and process to meet goals outlines. Work is reviewed by management to measure meeting objectives. Administers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees. Recommends changes to unit or sub-unit policies.


PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Works on complex problems where analysis of situation or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.


IMPACT: Personal judgment and performance may significantly affect the cost, schedule and quality of individual projects. Decisions or failure to achieve results may cause moderate adverse delays in schedules.


LIAISON: Frequently interacts with customer and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Interactions normally involve matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company.


FREEDOM TO ACT: Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignment, and may supervise the activities of less experienced personnel.


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY: Has mastery of the job with comprehensive knowledge of the job family and the ability to complete difficult and complex assignments. Analytical, communication, presentation and the ability to operate independently.


TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (or related field) and 6+ years related experience.



Note: Must be able to work on a W2 basis
