If you like working with details, have payroll experience and enjoy a fast-paced work environment, we may have just the position you've been looking for! We're recruiting a Payroll Assistant for our client company in Alexandria, where your primary responsibilities will include:



  • Verifying hours and entering time cards into accounting software

  • Ensure accuracy of labor and equipment codes

  • Run payroll reports and validate data entry

  • Assist with government compliance reporting

  • Edit, update and maintain employee records

  • Prepare wage packets for sub-contractors

  • Set up and ensure certified payroll files end EEO 13's are received

  • Set up bid items in spreadsheets for project estimators


Qualified candidates have a minimum Associates degree in accounting and:


  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel and Word

  • Accurate data entry, keyboarding and 10-key ability

  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

  • Good communication and ability to work well with a team

  • Valid driver's license


This is a long-term position, with core hours of 8am-5pm, Mon-Fri. Must be open to working overtime (including some Saturdays) during busy periods. Pay is $18-21/hour, depending on experience. Full benefits are offered at hire-on, including:
