About the Job:
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Forest County Potawatomi Community's (FCPC) three municipal drinking water systems and two wastewater treatment systems. Ensures compliance with all applicable rules and regulations as well as with the FCPC's two NPDES permits for operation of its wastewater systems.

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Forest County Potawatomi Community's (FCPC) three municipal drinking water systems and two wastewater treatment systems. Ensures compliance with all applicable rules and regulations as well as with the FCPC's two NPDES permits for operation of its wastewater systems.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Manages the processing of water and wastewater effluent to meet or exceed the quality required by FCPC and in accordance with established rules and regulations.
- Ensures compliance with all permits and renews/applies for permits as needed.
- Develops plans to provide services and meets with customers to resolve service and quality issues.
- Oversees the maintenance and replacement of equipment to ensure optimum reliability of the drinking water and wastewater systems.
- Determines actions to be taken in the event of emergencies such as power failures and broken water and sewer lines.
- In conjunction with the Indian Health Service (IHS), assists Tribal Member's not connected to FCPC or other municipal systems to ensure they have access to clean drinking water and wastewater treatment.
- Manages drinking water and wastewater contracts and grants.
- Develops, implements, and enforces a safety program.
- Ensures departmental employee effectiveness through recognition, coaching, counseling, skill advancement, performance evaluation, and corrective action.
- Serves as a mentor, coach, and positive role model for ethical behavior.
Here's what you'll need to be successful:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field plus 3 years' relevant work experience or 10 years' relevant work experience.
- State of Wisconsin certification in General Wastewater including subclasses A1, A3, B, C, P, and D or obtained within 1 year of date of hire.
- State of Wisconsin certification in Water Operations or obtained within 1 year of hire.
- State of Wisconsin certification as Master Operator or obtained within 1 year of hire.
- State of Wisconsin Septic Hauler License or obtained within 1 year of hire.
- Must have a valid, clean driver's license and be at least 21 years of age.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred.
