Job Summary
The Director of Population Health is responsible for directing the activities of the case and disease management programs and value-based program quality initiatives. This oversight includes program development and analysis related to member health outcomes and population health initiatives. This position coordinates resources within the division and the organization to assure quality and consistency for members, providers and the company. In addition, this position oversees regulatory certification for the appropriate programs, departments and/or functions on behalf of the company.

Experience Details: Minimum of 7 years of healthcare experience in quality and regulatory management or related experience is required, of which 5 years of supervisory/staff leadership experience is required.
Certification, Licensures & Registration Requirements
Title: North Dakota (ND) Registered Nurse (RN) License or RN License valid for work in ND
State or Agency: Board of Nursing
Equivalent combination of education, experience or training determined to be acceptable by Human Resources may be substituted, unless regulated by contract or program standards

Essential Functions
- Directs, leads and oversees staff in accomplishing work objectives within the unit(s). Coaches, motivates, rewards and recognizes subordinates. Sets clear goals, objectives and performance expectations and holds employees accountable for achieving results.
- Establishes internal processes and work methods to assure work is carried out on an efficient and timely basis with appropriate attention to quality and thoroughness.
- Partners on the management of data analytics in multiple databases and systems essential to the quality management and population health functions.
- Oversees monitoring, measuring, and reporting activities. Collaborates with staff and others to evaluate findings and improve processes and outcomes.
- Partners with the quality team to ensure the Quality Program activities are following state and federal regulations and all other recognized quality standards.
- Partners on the health plan accreditation survey process along with certification maintenance and management for both the commercial and exchange books of business. Serves as a subject matter expert on accreditation standards.
- Collaborates with external providers and agencies to improve population health and quality outcomes.
- Evaluates data to develop specific population health program needs.
- Collaborates with other divisions within BCBSND to ensure a unified approach to population health management.
