The Quoting & Design Engineer supports both the Sales & Engineering teams. This role participates in the development product based on Customer Specifications. This design is then used to calculate the process, materials required, and the cost of the item.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Product Design (40%)

• Works closely with other Engineers and Manufacturing to create detailed CAD models.
• Maintains the ERP system bills of materials and labor routings.

Estimating & Quoting (30%)

• Utilizing Customer Requirements to generate a CAD model and a representative drawing for customer approval
• Utilizing the ERP system, estimates labor, material and purchased content to properly determine the product cost.
• Interacts directly with the customer, at times, to properly understand the project requirements/requests.
• Maintains and updates product pricelists.

Project Management (20%)

• Works closely with manufacturing to assist in the first production of new products.
• Works closely with manufacturing to solve issues and identify process improvements

All other duties as assigned (10%)

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in design engineering, manufacturing engineering, product design engineering technology or other related fields.
• 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
• 3+ years of experience and/or training with SolidWorks, CAD, and CAM systems

Preferred:

• 3+ years of experience in a furniture manufacturing environment
• 3+ years of experience in project costing or quoting
