We are looking for a Chief Maintenance Engineer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the Engineering Department. This includes proper operation, maintenance and repair of all mechanical equipment, refrigeration, ventilation and heating. Utilizes a maintenance program to ensure the satisfaction, comfort and safety of staff and guests. Manages and trains all Engineering Staff.

Responsibilities


    -Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
    -Maintain knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
    -Ensuring guest satisfaction by resolving and responding to any guest complaints promptly.
    -Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program of guest rooms, public spaces, equipment and all areas of the building.
    -Inventory of all supplies and equipment.
    -Purchasing engineering supplies, tools and parts working with vendors, adhering to a budget.
    -Ensure the proper operation, maintenance and repair of: Water heaters and pumps, Refrigerant compressors, Air compressors, natural and manufactured gas lines, Water filters, plumbing of sinks, toilets, and water lines and other plumbing, lock and keys, electrical work and repairs.
    -Coordinate maintenance repair with vendors for any repair or carpentry.
    -Managing engineering staff with includes interviewing, hiring, supervising, training, assigning duties and work responsibilities, schedule the staff to meet business demands, approve PTO, sick leave, and schedule change.
    -Compare and resolve discrepancies between actual and budget figures.
    -Enforce all safety regulations.
    -Drive guests in shuttle van when asked.
    -Assist Engineering Staff.
    -Assisting in planning capital expenditures.
    -Attend designated meetings, certifications and recertification's needed for the position.
    -Train desk staff on basic maintenance tasks
    -Must excel communicating with GM and team in a timely fashion

Responsibilities:

    -Regular attendance is required, which may be established by the hotel management.Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, or termination.
    -Flexibility in work hours and days of the week.
    -Attend required staff meetings.
    -Comply with hotel procedures and policies.
    -Comply with hotel safety standards/OSHA standards.

Supportive Functions:

    -Respond in a timely and efficient manner to guest requests for items such as extra linen or amenities. Safety instructions, assist, direction and other information requested.
    -Report all suspicious persons, activities, or hazardous conditions.
    -Turn in all items found to hotel lost/found.
    -Maintain all work areas and equipment such as cart, vacuum, and closets in clean and neat condition to ensure quality and maximum job efficiency.
    -Report maintenance needs and replacement needs and all problems or unusual matters of significance to immediate supervisor.
    -Resend to emergency situations and trained.
    -All other duties as assigned.
